Service Description

This one-day class is an introduction to wood bowl turning. You will learn the basic skills needed to turn a simple wood bowl from "green" unseasoned log wood. This is a hands-on class, and with the instructors help, each student will work on a lathe, at their own work station. Most students will make a bowl they can take home. You will learn how to properly use a wood lathe and lathe accessories. You will also learn how to use a traditional bowl gouge, parting tool, detail gouge and scraper as well as various measuring and marking tools. All equipment, tools, material and supplies are included. Each student must bring their own face shield. Please note that we will be using traditional turning tools. Carbide scraping tools will not be used in this class.
