Beginner Bowl Turning I

Service Description

This one day class is an introduction to wood bowl turning. You will learn the basic skills needed to turn a simple wood bowl from "green" unseasoned log wood. This is a hands-on class, and with the instructors help, each student will work at their own pace, at their own work station. Most students will make a bowl they can take home. You will learn how to properly use a wood lathe and lathe accessories. You will also learn to use a bowl gouge, parting tool, detail gouge and scraper as well as various measuring and marking tools. All equipment, tools, material and supplies are included. Each student must bring their own face shield. Morning and afternoon snacks are provided. Noon meal is on your own.
